Joe Buonanno & Son Concrete is a Certified Pervious Concrete company, skilled in the use of this highly porous concrete that allows water from precipitation and other sources to pass directly through, thereby reducing the runoff from a site and allowing groundwater recharge.

Here are just some of the products we use for design and installation projects:

Residential

This versatile concrete is available in a variety of patterns and colors, creating the natural appearance of slate, flagstone, tile, or brick at a more affordable price. An ideal outdoor paving option, it is often used for pool decks, driveways, entries, courtyards, and patios. Stamped concrete also may be used for complex projects, commercial sites, and in conjunction with other hardscape materials.

The real beauty of concrete is revealed when the plain top surface is stripped away, resulting in a decorative coarse surface known as Exposed Aggregate Concrete. Whether natural or manufactured, the century-old use of exposed aggregate has not waned in popularity. In the case of concrete, this finish is both creative and functional. It’s durable and skid resistant making it a popular choice for sidewalks, plazas, pool decks and high traffic areas. Exposed Aggregate Concrete has vertical applications as well and can is often used for retaining walls, building facades and sound barriers.

Traditional concrete remains one of the most commonly installed surfaces today despite the growing number of decorative options. Often used for driveways, patios and pool decks, the plain, gray surface is cost-effective and functional with a genuine appearance that stands the test of time. Like all concrete variations, proper installation and maintenance are important.

Concrete is ideal for creating virtually any unique shape, design or pattern. Its appeal is further enhanced with the ability to customize color. Stamped Concrete Patterns may be used to simulate other outdoor materials, such as brick, slate or flagstone, but it can also subtly blend with nature or boldly make a dramatic statement. This beautiful design option is affordable and works well with other concrete finishing techniques to include broom finishing, sandblasting, exposing of aggregate and more.

Decorative overlays are a great option to refurbish an existing concrete surface without replacing it. Today, there are many resurfacing products available and decorative options, each varying in durability, appearance, maintenance and cost. Overlays are not always an option specifically in cases when the underlying base is cracked, damaged and/or unstable.

Color is just another way to further enhance the beauty concrete. Whether the design calls for bold shades, subtle hues or a combination of both, Joe Buonanno & Son Concrete creates vibrant designs for commercial and residential exteriors. There are several concrete coloring products – acid and water-based stains, concrete dye, integral and dry-shake hardener. Choosing the right method depends on a number of factors such as exposure conditions, performance and project type so the selection of an experienced concrete contractor is important to the final result.

Commercial

Concrete is an ideal material for commercial loading docks. Also referred to as an “apron” or the area in front of shipping doors, concrete dolly pads protect the foundation where semi-trailer landing gear drops. The surface is easy to install, cost-effective, and supports heavy loads. Custom fits for traditional and new truck sizes are available with long-lasting dependable results.

Concrete curbing combines form and function, shaping and protecting landscape beds, sidewalks, parking lots, and more. Ideal for both commercial and residential sites, the continuous edging stops mulch from washing away, grass and weeds from growing into landscapes, and cars and trucks from running off the edges of parking lots. Concrete is a popular choice for curbing over other traditional options such as wood timbers, plastic, steel, blocks, and bricks. It reduces potential rotting, shifting, and other safety hazards. Like other concrete applications, curbing and landscape borders can be colored and stamped in a variety of styles to further enhance any property.

Available for both residential and commercial sites, snow management services are wide ranging and include shoveling, plowing, blowing, stacking and removal. They also involve de-icing, salting and other surface treatments before, during or after winter storms. Important with any professional snow management service is pre-season planning and post-season inspection and repair. Understanding weather is unpredictable, 24-hour emergency snow and ice removal services are available.

When a residential and commercial site is limited due to obstacles or defects, excavation transforms the potentially available area into actual usable space. Applying the latest technologies, services include demolition, foundations and backfill, land clearing, drainage, stump removal, and more. In addition, projects can involve the tear out, replacement, and hauling away of old concrete.
